Richard K. Barlow
Richard K. Barlow has been an attorney in New Mexico for thirty-two years. A graduate of Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts, he subsequently earned his Law Degree from Yale Law School and a Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University.
Mr. Barlow has been an Adjunct Professor of Law in Taxation of the University of New Mexico Law School. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporate Law Section and a previous Member of the Board of Directors of the Tax Law Section of the New Mexico State Bar Association.
Mr. Barlow currently focuses on all aspects of tax law, estate planning, business and corporate law, and commercial transactions. He often lectures on taxation, estate planning, and business law to attorneys, accountants, and others.
Mr. Barlow is listed in the most recent edition of The Best Lawyers In America. He has been selected for inclusion in this publication for over 20 years, and is currently listed in six categories: Tax Law, Trusts and Estates, Non-Profit/Charities Law, Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions Law, and Securities Law (he has been listed in this publication for over 20 years). He also has an “AV” rating in the Martindale-Hubbell National Lawyers Directory. In addition, he was listed in Southwest Super Lawyers 2007, in the field of closely held business.

Vickie R. Wilcox
After graduating from Deming High School in southern New Mexico, Ms. Wilcox attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in political science. While an undergraduate in Washington, Ms. Wilcox was a White House Intern, a Congressional Intern, and was employed at the Department of Commerce and the Department of Labor.
After graduating from George Washington University, Ms. Wilcox returned to New Mexico and attended law school at the University of New Mexico School of Law, where she was a published author in the New Mexico Law Review, and a Notes and Comments Editor of the Law Review. At the University of New Mexico School of Law, she also received honors in clinical practice, and in the study of legal and judicial ethics.
After attending law school in New Mexico, Ms. Wilcox went on to continue her studies in taxation and estate planning at New York University in New York City. She earned her Masters of Law in Taxation from New York University, and subsequently returned to New Mexico to practice law with Richard K. Barlow.
Ms. Wilcox practices in the areas of tax law and estate planning, including wills and trusts, probate, guardianships and conservatorships, and charitable giving. In addition to the aforementioned areas of law, she frequently advises clients and professional advisors on Generation Skipping Transfer Tax issues and beneficiary designations for qualified retirement accounts.
Ms. Wilcox is listed in the most recent edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the categories of Tax Law and Trusts and Estates. In 2004, she was also honored by the Albuquerque Community Foundation and received the “Excellence in Charitable Gift Planning” award.
Ms. Wilcox has lectured to brokers, attorneys, accountants and others on estate planning, qualified retirement benefits, and legal ethics.

David A. Finlayson
David A. Finlayson graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Mexico law school in 1993. He has an M.B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of New Mexico as well.
Mr. Finlayson currently focuses his practice on business and corporate law, commercial transactions, estate planning and probate and the tax areas related thereto. Mr. Finlayson often lectures on taxation, estate planning, asset protection and business law to attorneys, accountants, and others.
Before narrowing his practice focus, Mr. Finlayson enjoyed a broad, varied general business law practice and has spent years providing general business advice to clients. This broad general business law background gives Mr. Finlayson the depth to understand the myriad of issues facing business owners as well as to suggest practical and effective solutions to the same.
David is a member of the Real Property Probate and Trust and Taxation Sections of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of New Mexico.
